 | A respected group of
military and scientific witnesses have called for the US
Government to make public any knowledge it may have on
UFOs.
The Disclosure Project, headed by UFO specialist
Dr Steven Greer, announced on Wednesday its Campaign for
Disclosure, aimed squarely at the US Government.
"We
are asking for the US Congress and President Bush to move
towards an official inquiry and disclosure on this subject,"
said Dr Greer at a press conference in Washington.
The
campaign follows seven years of research by Dr Greer into UFO
sightings. He has compiled testimony from more than 100
witnesses, all of whom suggest the US Government knows more
about UFOs than it is telling.
Dr Greer spoke of how
witnesses had seen fast moving objects coming to a sudden
halt, adding that such objects had been retrieved and studied
for more than 50 years by government agencies.

 | The organization hopes to
force the US Government into holding open congressional
hearings on UFO and extraterrestrial sightings.
US Air
Force Sergeant Michael Smith recalled his
experience.
He said: "They [the officials] were
watching a UFO on the radar, which was hovering at about
24,384m/80,000 ft.
It sat there for about 10 minutes,
and then slowly descended until it dropped off the radar. It
was gone for about five, 10 minutes, and then instantly
reappeared at 24,384m/80,000 ft, stationary."

 | He was not alone in his
assertions as more than 20 witnesses took the stand to detail
their UFO sightings and the Government’s efforts to maintain
secrecy.
The conference is set to continue with further
testimonies until 11 May.
